 Some time ago I had Bailey & Nala's mom Drawing mom do pictures of the boys. You see 4 years ago we got  Elvis our silver lab for our 25 anniversary( you know the silver one), Jake who is actually Elvis's litter brother came into our lives later that year. Even though Pete and I don't give gifts to celebrate our anniversary, this year I gave him these. I can tell you he was not expecting them. It was fun. They are so beautiful, the pictures do not show how wonderful they turned out.

His bed

                                         Jake LOVES LOVES his bed.

 He DOES NOT like when you notice him in his bed, or say good night to him, or kiss him good night. When he goes to bed he wants nothing more than to sleep. He grumbles to let you know he does not like any of this. I was able to get a little clip of sound,so you can understand what I'm saying.

So imagine our surprise when going to bed the other night we found Abby in Jake's bed. Jake let her stay. so we decided to leave her there knowing she would get up and move on her own ( which she did)

However the next night when we found her there he panicked, he did not want her there, but did not know what to do.

 Abby has her own bed, but she moves around a lot in the night. We find her all over the bedroom.

Hard as she tried, Lucy would not play

Grandpa even tried for her, Lucy wasn't getting up

Abby says it's not playtime it's bedtime

She tried them all, but no dog would play with her

Grandpa and the boys explained to her it was bedtime, not play time

She finally gave in, they all fell asleep

 I'm gonna try and get back to blogging again. I'm still not feeling 100 %, but things need to get back to normal around here. I'm afraid the dog hair is starting to take over, and to be honest with 5 dogs that's a lot of dog hair.

                            Have you ever seen a Tortoise eat up close?
 I fed them some prickly pear the other day, they just love the stuff. I like to hold it, seems to make eating it easier for them.

 Oh, I'm so sorry for not updating our blog after Lucy's rough night. She is doing great. Although she is having to wear the cone, she really does not seem to mind it.                         She is such a Good Girl

I have been sick, and Jake been snuggling me all week . Actually he has decided he really likes sharing  my blanket.

Sleepy Girl

                             Lucy, my big strong girl. She did just fine.

Still sleepy,but she did eat a little

Lucy had a rough night. I think she might have been nauseous, but we got through it and she seems better now. It looks really good, and we expect it to heal up without any problems. I did get her a soft cone, of course she did not like it. We just tried it on for size, lucky she did not have to wear it last night, since I stayed up with her

                      I wonder if Elvis senses Lucy is going in for surgery,
                 Nah this is just what they do before dinner time every night.

Lucy is going in today to have a bump removed off her hip, you can kinda see it in the top picture, I didn't want to gross anybody out, with the full view. It's yucky these days, we can't seem to get it to heal up. We thought long and hard about having it taken off because Lucy is 12, but she and the other dogs won't leave it alone now and she does not like them messing with it. I'm afraid she will bite one of them. We know  Lucy can't hear and she does not see well so she kinda gets mean. She even growled at me for trying to get her up the other day. She forgave me when we got in the car for a ride.

Lights

I think this is the second time ever that we have gotten the Christmas light up Thanksgiving weekend. Last year we did not even put lights up at all.

The boys were Good Dogs out front watching all the neighbors

Tom & Chris

 Our Thanksgiving weekend was great. The only thing that was missing were Tom (who now lives in Texas) and Chris (who's deployed in Afghanistan) and we missed them so much over the Thanksgiving weekend. So I thought I post some pictures of them, to cheer me up the dogs.
